Spring 2025

The management committee is working on a number of projects for 2025.  The plan to install solar panels on the south-facing roof over the Oak Room is still on-going. Once up and running the panels will generate electricity and with a planned battery storage system will make a considerable contribution to reducing our electricity costs over time. We expect to make good progress this summer once planning considerations have been met.

Our first ever pantomime, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ which we staged at Christmas was well received by the community and we hope to be able to do this again in December this year.

The winter season also saw the Centre used as a ‘Warm Hub’. These evenings provide a hot meal and a variety of activities for anyone over 50 and were organised by the Wycombe Wanderers Foundation.

We are very pleased to report that over thirty local clubs and associations now use our premises so there is surely something for everyone - just click on the activities tab below and have a look at our programme. The brand new on-line calendar will tell you when everything is going on each week and show you when we could host your next party!

If you would like to know more about us and the facilities we can offer please get in touch and take the video tour which will answer many of your questions about our facility.

We continue to make donations to local causes. We have a well-established grant funding scheme to support local community projects.  Any Downley area club or association may apply if they are looking for a little financial support for a local, non-profit activity or initiative that directly benefits the local community.

In the first instance please contact us on grants@downleycommunitycentre.org.uk or download an application form here. The committee will assess proposals for all projects on a monthly basis. You can read or download our grants policy guidelines here.
